| About
the Kevin
Williams Memorial Foundation Kevin had been a 1995 graduate of Shoreham-Wading River High School. He was an honor student as well as MVP in golf, basketball and baseball. He went on to Boston College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999. Although all of his roommates chose to stay in Boston, Kevin pursued Wall Street. He would say, just like the familiar song, “ If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere.” So he accepted a job with Sandler–O’Neill an investment banking firm upon graduation. He was on top of the world, literally and figuratively. He had a job he loved as a bond salesman on the 104th floor of Tower Two, he was to be married to his high school sweetheart Jillian Volk on December 1st , he was the pride of a close and loving family, he enjoyed the companionship of many friends and he loved life. Jamie eulogized his older brother at the memorial mass. “Kevin loved music, he loved baseball, but most of all he loved life. Thanks to a great mom and dad he was raised not to watch life go by, but to go out and grab it. He was brought up with love, and it’s love he gave to the world. Kev, you’ve always been my role model. I can only ask to get half of what you got out of life. Thank you for showing me how to laugh, for everything you ever took me to, for showing me a path in life. I’m sorry I could not be your hero that day, but I will go on with my head high and tell everyone of a great brother I have, of a bond like no other, and why I now have so much passion for life.”
Just as Kevin has inspired his younger brother, he has inspired countless
others with his love for family and for his fiancée Jill. One of Kevin’s
many talents and passions was baseball. Kevin’s love for baseball inspired
his family and fiancé to establish the Kevin Williams Memorial Foundation to
“keep his spirit alive and to give a lot of children the opportunity to
learn and enjoy baseball.” The fund will be used to send children to
baseball camps who might not otherwise be able to attend, supply equipment
to Little Leaguers whose families would have difficulty purchasing it, and
assist in renovating baseball fields for children.
