Past Events Kevin’s Christmas Angels
Past Events 2011 Kevin’s Holiday Angels Thank You Those of us at the Kevin Williams Foundation would like to thank everyone who supported the 2011 Kevin’s Holiday Angels Project. There are 32 families and almost 100 children who where given the gift of a holiday all due to your generosity. The holidays are about giving and sharing - and that you did. As the difficult economy handed us more and more families, you answered the call with more donations and more volunteers. Thank you to all those who supported our Toy Nights, both at Redemption and at Phil’s Sports Bar, to those who made monetary donations, those who donated toys, those who spent hours shopping and those that wrapped hundreds of gifts. Thank you to our deliverers and of course Santa! A very special thank you to Phil’s Sports Bar for donating the Toy Night Event and to the Shoreham Firehouse and EMS Unit for their donations, all their support and the use of their “house” for the wrapping of thousands of gifts. In this holiday season - this magical time for children- we thank you for making them smile, for bringing hope to their families, and for the difference you made in their lives.
The Boys of Summer Came Back Shoreham-Wading River Alumni Baseball Game On Saturday August 6th, 2011 close to 40 past SWR players took to their High School field once again. These boys stepped onto the Kevin Williams Memorial field to the cheers of their families which included in some cases, their children. Long time coaches Sal Mignano and Ray Maccagli put their usual coaching talents to work as this reunion of boys became ballplayers again. Spectators were treated to hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks and lots of fun baseball. Thank you to Coach Mignano & Coach Maccagli for their assistance in making this day possible. A special thank you to the Tastrom brothers for all of their help, but most importantly for their devotion to baseball. Thank you to all the SWR Alumni players whose return transformed the Kevin Williams Field into a “Field of Dreams” if only for an afternoon. The Tenth Annual Kevin Williams Memorial Golf Outing Gray skies and occasional light drizzle did nothing to dampen the spirits or camaraderie of the full house of golfers at this year’s tournament. Our new venue at Port Jefferson Golf Club and Lombardi’s on the Sound, seemed to meet with the approval of all. We could never thank enough our loyal supporters, our very generous sponsors, and our tireless volunteers who are there for us year after year. At this year’s dinner we had the honor of meeting two very special guests, Mr. Fred Price, Managing Principal of Sandler O’neil and Tyler Badamo, one of our previous baseball camp scholarship recipients, who is now attending Dowling College on a baseball scholarship. Both men were equally amazed by the dedication and generosity of all those who attended the evening.
Due to
that continued support and generosity of so many, the Kevin Williams
Foundation has now made a difference in the lives of over 600 children.
Thank you to those of you who joined us for this wonderful day. We look
forward to seeing you again next year on Monday July 23rd, 2012
for the 11th Annual Kevin Williams Golf Outing.
