Kevin’s Christmas Angels

We wish to thank all those who very generously donated to our “Kevin’s Christmas Angels” Project.  Whether it was a monetary donation, the donation of toys, volunteering to wrap hundreds of gifts or delivering “Christmas” to the 18 families during a snowstorm – you were the reason 70 people, 50 of them children, woke Christmas morning to find presents and hope under their tree.

We would like to both acknowledge and thank Brownie troop 3877 for doing a wonderful job of collecting many bags of toys for our toy drive.

A special thank you to the Shoreham EMS Company 5 and the Shoreham Fire Company 3 for their extremely generous donation, volunteering to shop for several of these families and sharing their Shoreham Firehouse with us for “wrapping day”.    “Kevin’s Christmas Angels” were obviously sent additional  “angels” in the form of our local firemen & women!

Those of us at the Kevin Williams Foundation thank all of you for allowing us to bring wonder, hope and smiles to all of these children this holiday season.

Please join us next year to share in the true spirit of Christmas.

 

Alumni  Game
 On Saturday August 8th 2009, the Kevin Williams Memorial Field was the site of the Shoreham Wading River Alumni Game.  Close to 40 past players took to the field in a scene that rivaled the “Field of Dreams.” Some players graduating as far back as 1982 were cheered on by their children, while others to the applause of family and friends.  The festive atmosphere of music, barbeque and baseball was enjoyed by all. 

            Thank you to all the players who returned “home” for this special game, the fans who cheered them on, to Coaches Sal Mignano and Ray Maccagli for their huge role in putting this game together as well as their dedication to many young men over the years and the Catan family for your wonderful help.

            If you missed this exciting event, look for the next Shoreham-Wading River Alumni Baseball Game – sponsored by the Kevin Williams Foundation – to be held in August of 2011.  Hope to see you there!
